Found a mistake in a dua or a source?

Send it. This is the most useful message Mawiza can receive, and it goes to the top of the pile ahead of any feature request.

The whole premise of the app is that every text is traceable, so a wrong citation, a mistranslation, a grading that overstates a chain, or a repetition count attributed to the sunnah when it is customary practice is a real defect, not a nitpick. Tell us what you saw and what it should be. If you can point to the reference, that is faster; if you cannot, send it anyway and it will be checked against the source.

Common things

Reminders are not arriving

Check, in this order: notifications are allowed for Mawiza in your system settings; the specific reminder is switched on in Mawiza (they are opt-in one at a time, so enabling one does not enable the rest); the time is not inside your quiet hours; and a Focus mode or battery saver is not holding them.

Mawiza schedules a short horizon of upcoming days and tops it up when you open the app. If the app has been closed for a long stretch, or you have travelled or crossed a timezone, open it once so the schedule recalculates.

Prayer times look wrong

They are computed on your device from your location and the calculation method set in Settings. Methods legitimately disagree by several minutes, especially for Fajr and Isha, so first check the method matches what your local masjid uses.

If times are off by a large amount, Mawiza is probably using a fallback city rather than your actual position. Confirm location access is granted while using the app.

The Qibla needle will not settle

The compass needs a location fix and a calibrated magnetometer. Move away from metal, magnets, cases with magnetic closures and chargers, then rotate the phone in a figure eight. Indoor steel and vehicles will defeat it.

The bearing itself is calculated on device. If the compass is unreliable where you are, the printed bearing is still correct.

There is no weather

Weather is off on a fresh install, on purpose: it is the one feature that sends anything off your phone. Turn on Weather moments in Settings to enable it. The privacy page sets out exactly what a weather request contains.

Will my favourites move to a new phone?

Only through your own device backup. There is no Mawiza account and no server, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing that syncs. That is a deliberate trade: the cost is manual migration, the benefit is that no copy of your reading exists anywhere but your phone.

Writing in

For a bug, these four lines get to an answer fastest:

  1. What you did, and what happened instead.
  2. Your device and OS version.
  3. The Mawiza version, from Settings → About.
  4. A screenshot, if it is something you can see.

Please do not send anything you would not want in an ordinary email inbox. Nothing is needed from your device beyond the four lines above.
